Abstract

Primary cardiac tumors are very rare. In large postmortem series, combined incidences of only 0.0017-0.03% for both
benign and malignant sarcomas have been reported. Sarcomas are the predominant subtype of malignant primary cardiac
tumors and account for over 75% of these malignancies. Of these, cardiac fibrosarcoma and its brain metastasis is even
rarer. Using gamma knife radiosurgery(GKRS), multiple brain metastases from a fibrosarcoma originating from the left
atrium of the heart of a 37-year-old woman were managed 5 times over two and a half years. This is the first report of a
case of metastatic brain fibrosarcoma from the heart that was successfully managed with radiosurgery
